San Diego scooter driver suffered severe head trauma injury after being hit by car.

A westbound traveling Hyundai Elantra crashed into a 47-year-old man riding on a Bird two-wheel scooter causing critical injury.  The scooter crossed into the path of the Hyundai  while attempting to make a left turn from Nobel Drive onto Regents Road against a red traffic signal according to the San Diego law enforcement at the scene.  The paramedics transported the scooter rider to the hospital with life-threatening injuries including head trauma and cervical fractures.  DUI was not suspected in this crash.
